[2012] EWCA Crim 2163

A judge had been entitled to admit evidence of an offender's previous convictions for sexual assault where the offender had lied during police interview about his sexual interest in children and had attacked the character of the victim's mother during trial. It was wrong to suggest that the misleading impression he had created during police interview should have been edited out.
