[2012] EWCA Crim 1012

A judge had correctly placed an offence of causing death by dangerous driving within Level 2 of the Sentencing Guidelines Council guideline for such offences where the driver of a heavy goods vehicle had accelerated on his approach to traffic lights on a major trunk road, only braking at the last moment when the lights changed to red and colliding with a vehicle travelling across the junction.
