A three-month sentence of imprisonment, suspended for twelve months, was appropriate for a 20-year-old woman who had pleaded guilty to a theft carried out as a planned criminal enterprise, but who was not the instigator of the offence, had been under severe financial pressure, and was the single mother of a very young child.
