[2011] EWCA Crim 1871

A prosecution under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 s.4 required proof of harassment. The prosecution had to prove, in addition to the statutory requirements, the requirements identified in Thomas v News Group Newspapers Ltd [2001] EWCA Civ 1233, [2002] E.M.L.R. 4, namely that the conduct was targeted at an individual, was calculated to alarm or cause him distress, and was oppressive and unreasonable.
