[2006] EWCA Crim 3024

A recorder had had been entitled to find on the evidence that an offender convicted of a serious offence posed a significant risk of causing serious harm to the public, and to impose a sentence of imprisonment for public protection. An extended sentence was also imposed for a violent specified offence, which would run concurrently with the sentence of imprisonment for public protection.
