In an appeal against sentence for an offence causing death by dangerous driving, two-and-a-half years' imprisonment was manifestly excessive where the appellant had suffered substantially knowing that he was instrumental in causing the death of his best friend and where the deceased's widow had requested that the appellant be dealt with leniently.
