[2012] EWCA Crim 1419
A recorder had not been wrong to impose a suspended custodial sentence on a single mother of previous good character who pleaded guilty to a single count of money laundering after consenting to her bank account being used to deposit proceeds of crime. Although her role had been minor, and although she had been ignorant of the large-scale fraud she was involved in, organised criminal activity depended on people like her, and the recorder had been right to have regard to deterrence.
