[2007] EWCA Crim 2715

A judge had erred in making a recommendation for an offender's deportation, following his guilty plea to an offence of seeking leave to remain in the UK by deception, where no reasons had been given for the recommendation and the facts of the case added nothing to the material which would be placed before the Home Secretary when reassessing the offender's asylum claim.
