A total sentence of three years and six months' imprisonment was manifestly excessive in circumstances where it comprised a sentence of 18 months for dangerous driving and a consecutive term of two years for perverting the course of justice by burning the vehicle involved. An appropriate term of imprisonment for the latter offence was 15 months to run consecutively.
