A sentence of eight months' imprisonment was appropriate in the case of a 32-year-old male who pleaded guilty to a charge of being drunk on an aircraft contrary to Art.57(1) Air Navigation (No.2) Order 1995. The judge had been entitled to consider that fellow passengers must have been utterly terrified and this did not mean that he had been sentencing on the basis of the more serious offence of endangering an aircraft.
