R v E (2011)

PUBLISHED November 16, 2011

[2011] EWCA Crim 3028

There had been no material irregularity in the conduct of a trial involving a defendant charged with cruelty to a person under 16 years of age, as the trial judge had not given the impression that the interests of the child victim outweighed the defendant's right to a fair trial and had not unduly restricted the cross-examination of the child. Consequently, there was no cause to doubt the safety of the conviction.
