[2007] EWCA Crim 708

There were no exceptional circumstances justifying a departure from the mandatory minimum sentence for a 16-year-old who had been found in possession of a prohibited firearm, despite the youth court having originally erroneously assumed jurisdiction. The defendant had known that what he was doing was highly illegal and highly irresponsible.
