A sentence of two-and-a-half years' imprisonment imposed on an offender for acts of criminal damage to train carriages and conspiracy to commit acts of criminal damage had been excessive as the sentencing judge had been overly influenced by previous convictions of a different nature. However, the sentences passed on the offender's co-accused for commission of the same offences were not excessive.
