[2013] EWCA Crim 1253

Where an offender had staged a robbery to cover up his own thefts, engaging 23 police officers to no purpose, a sentence of 18 months' imprisonment for one count of perverting the course of justice was too high. The starting point for that offence ought to have been 18 months, producing a sentence of 12 months' imprisonment applying full discount for an early plea.
