[2012] EWCA Crim 1388

The court halved a sentence of 12 months' imprisonment imposed by a Crown Court for offences of criminal damage, fraud by false representation and breach of a suspended sentence order. The offender had been committed by the magistrates for sentence under the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 s.6, and the Crown Court's sentencing powers were limited to those available to the magistrates.
