Whether an accused should be handcuffed during a trial fell in the ambit of the judge's discretion. Furthermore, no general principles could be laid down as to a retrial being before a different judge: it was a matter to be left to the good senses of judges. The burden lay on a defendant to show that his realisable assets were less than the proceeds of drug trafficking for the purposes of a combination order.
