[2007] EWCA Crim 599

Considering the policy behind the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 s.2, it was appropriate for proceedings against two offenders for dangerous driving to continue although they had not been served with the papers within the prescribed time where the resulting accident occurred owing to the presence on the road of their vehicles, and in light of their involvement in the accident they did not need to be warned that they risked prosecution.
