R (on the application of M) v WEST LONDON YOUTH COURT (2009)

PUBLISHED June 30, 2009

[2009] EWHC 1777 (Admin)

No improper pressure was placed on a defendant where magistrates had confirmed in open court that jurisdiction was being declined because of the aggravating features of the relevant offence but that if the defendant had been minded to plead guilty, the discount for that plea would have enabled jurisdiction to be retained, and the defendant had thereafter indicated a wish to plead guilty.
