Public backing for drinks law shake-up

A radical shake-up of Scotland's licensing laws has been given the thumbs-up in a public consultation.

Now the proposals, including a national "no proof, no sale" policy to combat underage drinking and a clampdown on irresponsible drinks promotions, are set to form part of a new licensing Bill, the first such legislation for nearly 30 years.
