Hospital security staff, neighbourhood wardens, park rangers and uniformed council workers across Essex are being given some police powers from Thursday.

As part of a partnership with Essex Police they will be able to issue fixed penalty notices for a variety of offences, a police spokesman said.
They will also have powers to confiscate alcohol and tobacco from underage teenagers.
