The Legal Aid Agency Manual is the essential reference guide for organisations delivering civil or criminal legal aid services under the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.
The LAA Manual contains the statutory, regulatory and contractual framework within which legal aid providers and the Legal Aid Agency operate.
To comply with your contract terms, you must have a copy of the current LAA Manual, available in hard copy, on CD-Rom or online.
Three volumes for providers to choose to subscribe to
- Volume 1: Crime Regulations and Crime Contracts ? includes new crime regulations under the 2012 Act and the terms of the 2010 Standard Crime Contract
- Volume 2: Civil Contracts ? includes both the 2010 and 2013 Standard Civil Contracts, Cost Assessment Guidance and Category Definitions
- Volume 3: Civil Regulations ? includes the legal aid parts of the 2012 Act, all new civil regulations and the Lord Chancellor?s Guidance.
Previous Manual
Providers who have a current online subscription with the publisher will also have online access to an archived version of the previous version of the manual.
This means that providers will have access to guidance relating to legacy work, continuing under the Access to Justice Act 1999.
