PUBLISHED December 14, 1999The words in para.3(5) of Sch.1 Legal Aid in Criminal and Care Proceedings (Costs) Regulations 1989, "when proceedings relate to serious or complex fraud", did not mean literally "charged with an offence of fraud", but extended to proceedings about serious or complex fraud whatever might have been charged on the indictment.
