MILES v GILBANK (2006)

PUBLISHED May 11, 2006
SHARE

A manager was jointly and severally liable with a company for an award of damages for injury to feelings suffered by an employee as a result of discrimination where the manager had aided the unlawful discrimination by her own conduct and by making it clear that such conduct was acceptable for other managers. An award of £25,000 for injury to feelings was not, in the circumstances, manifestly excessive.
