Judges have no mercy for advocates who fail to show up in court

Tip number one for effective advocacy: you need to turn up. Last month, the Supreme Court of Illinois suspended a lawyer for 60 days for failing to appear at an oral hearing in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago.
