A British citizen's involvement as an agent of an allegedly corrupt joint venture, one of whose entities was based in the United States and stood to make substantial profits, was sufficient to provide a substantial connection between him and the US as the extraditing state, pursuant to the Extradition Act 2003 s.137(2)(a), where the effects of his alleged actions were felt in the US, and were intended to be felt there.
