Jail young thugs urge residents as 'softly, softly' approach fails

Residents of a housing estate who set out to tackle youth crime by working with offenders have given up their "softly softly" approach and called for the troublemakers to be jailed.

The community group, Save Our Scheme, was set up two and a half years ago in response to years of "violence and fear" in the Broomhouse area of Edinburgh.
