Goldsmith 'rigged talks on no-jury trial'

Lord Goldsmith, the Attorney General, faces accusations that he rigged a vital consultation process by "handpicking" judges to help force through plans to abolish juries in complex fraud cases. The proposal, expected to go back to Parliament today, has been condemned by MPs and civil rights groups who see it as the beginning of the end for jury trials.
