We?re bringing our timescales for handling correspondence into line with MoJ

Our timescales for handling correspondence is changing on 1 November 2013 to match MoJ standards.
Our new targets will affect:
  • first tier and second tier complaints
  • MPs correspondence
The new service standard requires the LAA to deal with 90% of correspondence in 20 days. The previous target was 10 days.
The changes will not affect the process that providers, members of the public and MPs currently follow to submit complaints or correspondence to the agency.

No change on FOI requests

The changes do not affect Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

These include requests for internal review or requests for information under the Data Protection Act.  These remain subject to statutory deadlines.

We will continue trying to respond to correspondence as quickly as possible as part of our commitment to good customer service.
