[2002] EWCA Civ 1482

A trial judge in a civil claim against the police should have given the jury more assistance in light of significant evidence given by a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and, in the circumstances, was wrong to conclude that the claimant had proved his claims of assault and misfeasance in a public office.
