The new Law Society president Andrew Caplen has pledged to prioritise protecting access to justice and legal aid in his year of office.

Hampshire solicitor Caplen, who took office last week, said he wants the Society to 'refocus' and plans to lobby the government to make legal aid more readily available for domestic violence victims.
