"Used effectively, restorative justice can bring benefits to victims and communities and make a contribution towards reducing re-offending. Although police forces are increasingly drawing on it, there is variation across the police service and ACPO has recently published standards and guidance that support consistency and will help forces maximise the benefits of restorative justice."
