Ministers are considering radical human-rights reform, from replacing the Human Rights Act with a British Bill of Rights, to withdrawing from the European Convention on Human Rights. But what can we do now to curb the growth of spurious claims? The biggest problem is human rights-based restrictions on deportation, driven by judicial legislation.
