[2009] EWCA Crim 456

A sentence of five years' imprisonment for possession of a shortened shotgun contrary to the Firearms Act 1968 s.4(4) was too high having regard to the factors set out in R. v Avis (Tony) [1998] 1 Cr. App. R. 420. Four years was appropriate.
