When two reports on illegal drug use were released last week, much was made of the fact thatwhile young people seem to be turning their back on drugs, their parents' interest is picking up. The number of 11- to 15-year olds taking drugs is slightly over half what it was ten years ago, while the proportion of 16- to 24-year olds who report doing so is down from 30 per cent in 2003 to just under 20 per cent now - despite a slight pick up over the last year.
