A lifesaving device developed with the aid of Hertfordshire Police may soon be used by other forces across the country to help prevent deaths in custody.

The Cell Occupant Monitoring System can tell if a person has stopped breathing.
Fitted in a cell, it uses microwaves to monitor movement of a prisoner's chest and will sound an alarm if it stops.
