A conviction under the Public Order Act 1986 s.5(1) for walking naked through a town centre was proportionate as, even though the offender's right to freedom of expression under the European Convention on Human Rights 1950 art.10 had been engaged, the district judge had been entitled to find that there was a pressing social need for the restriction of his right to be naked.
