Raffan Hawker

On 26 March 2012, the Panel of Adjudicators Sub-committee of the SRA resolved to intervene into the remnants of the above named former practice of David Juler Hawker, ­formerly at Raffan Hawker of 37 Clarence Street, Southend-on-Sea, Essex SS1 1BH.

The ground for intervention is that an intervention was necessary to ­protect the interests of clients (or ­former or potential clients) of Hawker or his firm, or the interests of the ­beneficiaries of any trust of which Hawker and/or his firm is or was a trustee.

No intervention agent has been appointed. Arrangements have been made by the SRA to collect archived files currently stored at an external offsite facility.

Cresswell & Co

On 26 March 2012, the committee resolved to intervene into the above sole practice of A J Cresswell, formerly at Lloyds Bank Chambers, 308-312 Chiswick High Road, London W4 1NP on the grounds that he had failed to comply with:

1. The Solicitors Accounts Rules 1998/SRA Accounts Rules 2011;
2. The Solicitors Code of Conduct 2007/SRA Code of Conduct 2011; and
3. The Solicitors Indemnity Insurance Rules 2010.

James Dunn of Devonshires, 30 Finsbury Circus, London EC2M 7DT, tel: 020 7628 7576, DX: 33856 Finsbury Square, has been appointed as the SRA's agent. The first date of ­attendance was 29 March 2012.

By virtue of section 91(2) of the Courts & Legal Services Act 1990, Cresswell's practising certificate has been suspended with immediate effect.

Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited

On 30 March 2012, the committee resolved to intervene into the practice of Ashok Kumar Sancheti who ­practised as Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited, formerly of 115a Chancery Lane, London WC2 1PR on the grounds that:

1. There was a reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of the recognised bodies Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP and Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited;
2. Sancheti and Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited had failed to comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules 1998 and Solicitors Accounts Rules 2011;
3. Sancheti and Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited had failed to comply with the Code of Conduct 2007 and Code of Conduct 2011; and
4. It was necessary to exercise powers of intervention in relation to Sancheti and Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited to protect the interests of clients (or former or potential clients) of Sancheti and Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited or the beneficiaries of any trust of which Sancheti or Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP or Morgan Walker Solicitors Limited is or was a trustee.

Further, on 5 April 2012 the ­committee resolved to intervene into the practice of Ashok Kumar Sancheti who formerly practised as Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP, formerly of 115a Chancery Lane, London WC2 1PR on the grounds that:
1. It was necessary to exercise powers of intervention in relation to Sancheti and Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP to protect the interests of clients (or ­former or potential clients) of Sancheti and Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP or the beneficiaries of any trust of which Sancheti or Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP is or was a trustee; and
2. There was a relevant insolvency event occurring in relation to a ­recognised body in relation to Morgan Walker Solicitors LLP.

By virtue of the intervention, Sancheti's practising certificate has been suspended with immediate effect.

IConveyancer Limited

On 12 April 2012, the committee resolved to intervene into the above recognised body, IConveyancer Limited, and into J M Bennett's ­practice at IConveyancer Limited, ­formerly of Suite 205, 47 Aspect Court, Park Square East, Leeds LS1 2NL.

The grounds for intervention for J M Bennett are:

1) Failure to comply with the SRA
Code of Conduct 2011; and
2) It is necessary to exercise the ­powers of intervention in order to ­protect the interests of clients (or ­former or potential clients) of J M Bennett or the interests of the ­beneficiaries of any trust of which J M Bennett is or was a trustee.

The ground for intervention for IConveyancer Limited is that it is necessary to exercise the powers of intervention in order to protect the interests of clients (or former or potential clients) of IConveyancer Limited or the interests of the beneficiaries of any trust of which IConveyancer Limited is or was a trustee.

Mr Bennett's practising certificate has not been suspended.
