A late-night reveller caught urinating in the street was told by by judge: "This isn't France you know".

William Smith, 39, was spotted wandering in the street with his genitals "hanging loose".

District Judge Vivian Manning-Davies told Smith: "This isn't France, you know, where that kind of behaviour is acceptable.

"Your behaviour was quite offensive - it is unacceptable in our society."

Smith, of Pembroke Dock, West Wales, admitted being drunk and disorderly.

The court heard Smith had been drinking heavily when witnesses saw him clutching his crotch and opening his fly to relieve himself.

Jonathan Webb, defending, said Smith had been caught short soon after leaving a friend's house where he had been drinking.

Mr Webb said: "He is very remorseful for his behaviour - it was obviously a very foolish stupid thing to do."

Judge Manning-Davies fined Smith £200 at Haverfordwest magistrates court.
