An offence of attempted child abduction fell into the ambit of s.32(2)(a) Criminal Justice Act 1988, in that the witness box could be dispensed with in the case of the child, as a threat of injury included a risk of injury to the mental health of the child or its carer. * Leave to appeal to the House of Lords refused.
