Discreditable conduct on the part of police officers involved in a defendant's case, which occurred after the events giving rise to the conviction under appeal, could affect the safety of that conviction. However, it was inappropriate to doubt convictions which had occurred almost a decade before any known misbehaviour on the part of those officers.
