A diabetic who collided fatally with a pedestrian when he suffered a hypoglycaemic attack whilst driving, had suffered hypoglycaemic unawareness at the time of the collision such that it reduced his culpability to an extent that brought the offence significantly below the sentencing range that would normally apply in a case of driving whilst conscious of a significant medical impairment.
