Where the claimant was successful on his third appeal against a murder conviction on a reference by the Criminal Cases Review Commission and the Court of Appeal substituted a conviction for a lesser offence, there was no quashing for the purposes of s.133 Criminal Justice Act 1988 and the appeal history was not an exceptional circumstance that would allow compensation for wrongful compensation.
