The defendant's conviction for manslaughter was unsafe and was quashed. A retrial was ordered.Appeal, with leave of the single judge, against conviction and sentence for manslaughter on 22 July 2002 at the Central Criminal Court before Newman J. The defendant was sentenced on 25 October 2002 to ten years' imprisonment.HELD: The conviction was unsafe and would be quashed. A retrial was ordered and the defendant would be kept in custody until the retrial.Appeal allowed.
