The decision in R. v Clarke (Ronald Augustus) [2008] UKHL 8, [2008] 1 W.L.R. 338 did not overrule the approach in R. v Thompson (James Andrew) [1914] 2 K.B. 99 and, as a result, on the facts of the case duplication of threats to kill on the indictment had not caused any injustice and did not mean that the resulting conviction should be quashed.
