A total sentence of four years' imprisonment imposed following early pleas to two counts of attempted robbery was manifestly excessive and was reduced to 30 months' imprisonment, as the offences were firmly within level one of the Sentencing Guidelines Council's sentencing brackets and there was nothing in the aggravating features that warranted a sentence outside that bracket.
