A total sentence of two years' imprisonment was manifestly excessive following pleas of guilty to producing a Class B controlled drug and possession of such a drug with intent to supply. The offence amounted to an ongoing, low-level commercial production of cannabis, involving between 30 and 40 plants. It was in the upper range of Category 3 of the sentencing guidelines and the appropriate sentence was 12 months' imprisonment.
