[2011] EWCA Crim 1123

Where the prosecution had rejected a defendant's guilty plea to a lesser offence, the judge had been wrong to direct a guilty verdict on the basis of that earlier plea. Once the plea had been rejected by the prosecution, it had to be treated as null, of no effect and withdrawn.
