[2001] EWCA Crim 1004

A total sentence of eight years' imprisonment for having an offensive weapon and false imprisonment was manifestly excessive in light of the appellant's unusual motivation, that he wanted to be arrested in order to deprive his family of his company, and was substituted with a term of four years.
