[2012] EWCA Crim 1480

A wasted costs order had been properly made where a solicitor advocate had failed to appear at a Crown Court at the listed time on the listed day to represent a client. At the point when the advocate realised that she could not fulfil her commitment, she should have fulfilled her duty to the court by instructing a barrister who was already at the court to represent her client at short notice.
