[2013] EWCA Crim 889
A sentence of 18 years' imprisonment imposed on a 76-year-old offender for conspiracy to supply a Class A drug was not manifestly excessive as he had played a leading role in organising the movement of drugs on a commercial scale. Although he was elderly, he was not in ill-health and had no difficulties other than those which were expected of a man of his age and sufficient regard had been taken of his age.
